How to uninstall the Blocks plugin

Remove the software from your computer

You can uninstall the plugin from Windows Settings or the Control Panel.

Before you begin, make sure Revit is fully closed and not still running in the background. You can check this in Windows Task Manager:

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc;

  2. In the left sidebar, open the Details tab. If the sidebar is collapsed, click ☰ to expand it;

  3. Look for:

    • Revit.exe

If Revit.exe appears in the list, Revit is still running even if no window is open. Select Revit.exe and end the task. If you see a message asking “Do you want to end Revit.exe?”, click End process to confirm. Then wait a few seconds for other Revit-related background processes to close automatically.

Make sure to save your project before closing Revit completely.

Uninstall the plugin from Windows Settings

  1. Close Revit completely;

  2. Press ⊞ Win + I;

  3. In the left sidebar, click Apps;

  4. Click Installed apps;

  5. In the search bar, type “Blocks”;

  6. Find the Blocks plugin in the list and click ··· on the right;

  7. Click Uninstall, then click Uninstall again. If you see messages such as “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?” and “Are you sure you want to uninstall Blocks BIM?”, click Yes to confirm;

  8. Wait for the uninstall process to finish.

Depending on your Windows version, these steps may look slightly different. If you can’t find Installed apps in Settings, you can also open it directly:

  1. Press ⊞ Win + R;

  2. Type ms-settings:appsfeatures and press Enter.

Uninstall the plugin from Windows Control Panel

  1. Close Revit completely;

  2. Press ⊞ Win and type Control Panel;

  3. Press Enter to open it;

  4. Under Programs, click Uninstall a program;

  5. Type “Blocks” in the search box;

  6. Find the Blocks plugin in the list and select it;

  7. Click Uninstall. If Windows asks for permission to make changes to your device, click Yes. If another confirmation window appears, click Yes again and wait for the process to finish.

These steps may also vary depending on your Windows version. If needed, you can open the installed programs and apps list directly:

  1. Press ⊞ Win + R;

  2. Type appwiz.cpl and press Enter.
