1. Revit installed and up to date
The plugin only works with compatible versions of Revit. We also recommend keeping Revit updated to the latest build released by Autodesk. Click here to check compatible Revit versions and the latest Autodesk builds.
Revit must be the full version to ensure compatibility with the plugin — Revit LT is not supported.
2. Internet access
The plugin requires an internet connection to work properly. Both your computer and Revit must be connected.
Firewall rules affecting the plugin, Autodesk, or Revit components may interfere with how the plugin works. Make sure those connections are allowed in the inbound and outbound rules of the active firewall on your computer.
If you are not sure which firewall is active, follow the steps below:
Press ⊞ Win + R;
Type
firewall.cpl;Click OK.
A window will open showing which firewall is currently managing the system. On standard Windows installations, this is usually Windows Defender, but other security software may also manage it.
If you are using Windows Defender, you can access the inbound and outbound rule lists by clicking Advanced settings in the left column of the window.
If you adjust or remove network blocks related to the Blocks plugin, Autodesk, or Revit, restart your computer so the changes can take effect.
3. Administrator permissions
To help the plugin work properly, we recommend running Revit as an administrator. This helps avoid permission restrictions that may interfere with it.
Follow the steps below:
Close Revit if it is open;
Go to the Revit shortcut on your Windows desktop, or search for Revit in the Start menu;
Right-click the Revit icon;
Select Run as administrator;
If a confirmation window appears, click Yes.
