When Revit can't find the way to material textures, you may notice that in realistic view, many of the existing materials in your model are dark gray in color.

There are two ways to fix this problem:

1. The Blocks plugin is not up to date

This is another problem that can cause Revit not to have the textures of certain families, to check the version of your plugin follow the steps indicated in the article below:

And to find out which is the latest version currently available for the plugin, contact Blocks support.

2. Path of Textures in Revit

Material textures in Revit are not stored inside .rvt or .rfa files, they are external files that are located in different locations on your computer and for Revit to find these texture files, you will need to show them where they are, follow the step by step below:

2.1. Access Revit options

Revit Options

2.2. Check the paths

In the "Rendering" tab you can manage the path to the textures folders, check if the paths indicated below are indicated in your Revit.

2.3. Indicate the correct paths

If they are not, we recommend that you add these paths by clicking on the green "+" icon indicated in the previous image:

C:\ProgramData\Blocks BIM\Textures\

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Materials\Textures\1\Mats\

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Materials\Textures\2\Mats\

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Materials\Textures\3\Mats\

Important: It is okay that there are other paths configured in Revit, different from those indicated above, however, it is highly recommended that the 4 paths above are configured in Revit, one of them is Blocks textures and the others are standard Autodesk textures.

To check if the texture folder is correctly installed on your computer, simply open File Explorer and enter the following path: C:\ProgramData\Blocks BIM\Textures. A new folder will open with the images used by the Plugin. If this folder doesn't open, we recommend reinstalling the Plugin.
